on my desk ...

on my desk ..., originally uploaded by edwardandlilly.

It's getting to the point where every spare minute (and there aren't many of them) is spent on this baby quilt. I'm expecting the top to be finished in the next day or two.

Got any super quilting tips/links for me? Please leave a comment, this is my first quilt so I need all the help I can get.

There are more desks here

and have you seen this? I'm loving it.

oh, this is looking lovely!

and tips - i've got a couple:
from trial and error -
use a thin, very tightly woven batting. non of that loose, puffy really easy to stretch stuff.
baste it like crazy! crazymomquilts - linked on my sidebar - has a great tutorial on this.
if machine quilting - start at the center and move out to the edges.
if tying - same thing.
DON'T put the binding on or finish the edges until it's quilted or tied. this allows some room for stretch.
you can tie with yarn or you can do french knots with embroidery floss if you don't want to quilt it.
umm, if you have other questions - feel free to ask - i may have an answer for you.

and like i said - it is looking lovely - can't wait to see more of it!
