Did you know it was BrisStyle's 1 year anniversary last weekend? You can read more about the celebrations and find information about all the lovely members here.

Lucky for me I was the recipient of a beautiful Twinkle Star Art mermaid print and some cute fairy ACEOs in the BrisStyle gift swap. I must say not only is Amanda a talented artist but she's also very clever. Her prints are customised to suit the little boy or girl receiving them. You can choose from mermaids, rocket boys, sailor kids, princesses, the list goes on. Some prints like Surfer Girl have portrait options where you can choose hair colour, hair style, skin tone, eye colour and have a name printed on. Plus many are designed to coordinate with popular bed linen. Genius!! This is such a special gift idea for the child who has everything.

Button Charm Bracelet

A little something I whipped up last week but forgot to share. When my nieces come to visit they always insist on leaving with a button from the re-purposed plastic peanut butter jar. They know exactly where to go to pick one out. I'm amazed by their obssession with these little bits of plastic, they act as though they're receiving a gold coin. I'm sure my sister's car is strewn with abandoned buttons by the time they make their long trip home. I came up with the button charm bracelet last week. Now when they visit rather than walking out with a simple button, they can walk out with a new charm sewn onto their bracelet ;)

Do you know Molly from Apple Cyder? Well you should, her blog is lovely and her sister needs votes for a worthwhile solar power funding proposal. Here's a little snippet from the proposal:

"A humble off grid home and family of three needs a small solar electric off grid system to provide a safe and clean environment for child development, jumpstart our careers, sustain our family in future years, spark a progressive community based movement in our rapidly developing low income community, and clear the air of our generator noise/air pollution."

My creative space...

A little more chaotic this week with bushfire bunnies, boy versions of Dream Girl Port-A-Plush, Easter Chicks in progress and trial versions of new products. I'm loving it, I think I work better amidst a bit of chaos.

This is just a very small section of a desk covered in mermaid sketches, sparkly pink, sea green shimmer, tulle, cotton, sequins and pathetic attempts at making quilted sea shells... this morning things are finally looking up ;)

I love old fashioned telephones. My Dad worked for Telstra (formerly Telecom) for I think over 30 years so there were always a few old telephones around the house to play with when we were kids.
