Button Charm Bracelet
A little something I whipped up last week but forgot to share. When my nieces come to visit they always insist on leaving with a button from the re-purposed plastic peanut butter jar. They know exactly where to go to pick one out. I'm amazed by their obssession with these little bits of plastic, they act as though they're receiving a gold coin. I'm sure my sister's car is strewn with abandoned buttons by the time they make their long trip home. I came up with the button charm bracelet last week. Now when they visit rather than walking out with a simple button, they can walk out with a new charm sewn onto their bracelet ;)
If you've read this far I know you're killing yourself wondering where those bird buttons come from. Pop over to reREAD to find them.

What a sweet idea! Lucky kids.
i bought a similar button braclet from my friends at lilly cottage and my girls just love to wear it. they make them in kids sizes but never seem to have any in stock. maybe i should attempt one...
those buttons are really super no wonder they treat them like gold.

So cute! I wish I could hang around your button jar! :)
What a great idea. They must drive their mum mad with the constant begging to go and visit you :-)
Oh those birds, and the braclets...so sweet, so simple and just perfect.
I wanted to email you to let you know where the fabric came from for my smocks. I am not sure where you are geographically, I am in Sydney (Northern beaches) this fabric came from a shop called Hai Ha in Cabramatta on John St.
This is such a beautiful idea Rebecca! It's lovely the notion of passing on a love of buttons, but also the fact that the girls receive them with such preciousness!
