A Christmas day conversation:
Aunty Rebecca: What would you like me to make you for your 4th birthday this year?
Little A: Umm... an Ariel costume.
Aunty Rebecca: uuuuhhhh.... okaaaayyy.....
This is just a very small section of a desk covered in mermaid sketches, sparkly pink, sea green shimmer, tulle, cotton, sequins and pathetic attempts at making quilted sea shells... this morning things are finally looking up ;)

Can't wait to see how this costume is going to turn out! Your table looks very intersting indeed! But maybe next time you could suggest a ghost costume! (sheet with holes for eyes) :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the finished costume!

ReplyDeletevery pink and glittery! i was asked to make a cotton sporticus suit by my 4 year old son {he gets eczma so the pre-maid nylon suits just don't work}. i just don't have the skillz!
ReplyDeleteoh that's so cute, I love that! And from what I can see it looks great so far...can't wait to see the final product!

ReplyDeleteoooh! what an exciting project! Those 'shells' look great! x
ReplyDeleteLesson number one - NEVER ask a pre-schooler what they want you to make for them. In my case the reply was a tiger costume. So I obliged. Fur 2 inches long clogging up my sewing machine. It's what you do for someone you love - but never again!
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful creation will be truly loved and cherished by the little mermaid.
Ohhh... that's going to be so pretty! Can you make me one next :)
ReplyDeleteOh you're SO going to be 'Fun Aunt Rebecca' forever! Big brownie points...
ReplyDeleteI wish I was four (and you were my aunty) ... this is cool as ... please post a pic when it's finished and being loved by a super hyped up happy 4 yr old
ReplyDeleteI've got goosebumps. I had a Melody at my place for at least 2 years. I can't wait to see it finished.
