My creative space ...

There's so much half finished stitching all over the space this week in preparation for BiDM, the calmness is starting to evolve into chaos, the queezy feeling in my stomach won't subside...


Lots of stuffing, stitching and little faces still waiting to be created from last week's softie efforts...


I don't remember stitching this many little critters, must have been during an embroider-trance-like state a couple of weeks ago, fingers crossed there's time for them all to become brooches by next Saturday.

Who doesn't love the eco-freshness of peppermint magazine? Not only is this issue the biggest yet, packed with loads of fabulous content but it also features my little brooches :)

30 kitties, bunnies and puppies means 60 little ears and 60 little arms need to be sewn, turned and pressed... not that I'm counting, the last thing you want to do is start counting when your space is this repetitious...

Luckily I have beautiful things to play with this week, like gorgeous wool blanketing samples thanks to this generous Daylesford soul. Incredibly soft, they will be put to work in January to make some very special Cuddly Cats.

Hope your Sunday was lovely, mine was spent with the Owls followed by a bit of stitching on the couch with my old friend Woody Allen, there's something about the banter in his films that comforts me after a long week.

A very tiny groan can usually be heard when a custom order comes in but this one made my day, it was so lovely to take a break from the other birds, to stop and have a think about how a design will work rather than being on auto pilot.

Back to the stitching drawing board after the big weekend, now it's time to get ready for the BrisStyle Indie Designers Market!


And keeping watch over me is Olivier Levasseur, the French Pirate Octopus from Sophia at Marelle. I hope with all those arms he makes quick time of that pile of granny squares he's lounging on because I haven't picked up a crochet hook in months! Olivier won't be staying long... unless I decide to keep him :)

There are four hand-embroidered tissue cosies available in the shop now! Tissue cosies are a new edward & lilly product launched at Finders Keepers on the weekend and these cuties are all I have left till December. You can check them out here.

Finders Keepers Brisbane

Finders Keepers was a huge success! I had a fabulous time nestled between Chi and Jen.


Lots of friendly BrisStylettes, Brown Owls, family and friends popped in to check it out, to give me a little break and to say hi.


It was super busy on the Saturday with lots of selling, talking and laughing. Sunday was a little quieter, perfect for catching up with Kim and Renee, the gorgeous Selvedge House gals, Hayley and playing swapsies with Simone.


The new product, hand-embroidered tissue holders went down a treat - a few of these will be in the shop this week!


Thanks to B for keeping me organised when I was slightly brain-dead setting up, family for minding the stall when I hit the wall and the big love for keeping me sane this year.

Special thanks to Sam for being so hard-core sneaking a beer up to my stall on the Saturday night, teehee ;)
