the one that made me cry

I like finding out about where food comes from. Some people don't and I respect that. Sometimes when you find out it changes something inside you. I think that's what this book will do for a lot of people. Writers like Jonathan Safran Foer are slowly changing the way we think about our actions. If you like finding out about food too check out this link.

My partner is vegan (I'm vegetarian) and he's studying the philosophy of animal ethics, so there's so many books like this in my house, I haven't been able to bring myself to read this one though, I just know it'll make me cry.

We're meat eaters & our children find it fascinating how animals go from grassy paddock to their plate. I can imagine this book is eye opening, at least we're clued in. Don't hate us, love Posie

Since we're animals it makes sense we would feel like we're eating our own, but I always wonder when we'll finally discover that plants are beings too.

Great post!

One of my favourite books is by Peter Singer & Jim Mason called 'The Way We Eat: Why Our Food Choices Matter'. Have you read it?

I can't imagine not wanting to know where my food comes from.

I love JSF's books. I wish he would write more.

Have you read 'My Year of Meat' by Ruth Ozeki? - another book which makes you think about where food comes from.
