It's been a busy past week both in my little sewing space and out and about in the crafty community.
I finally finished a custom order I promised a while back, felt good to tick another thing off the list :)
Had a gorgeous morning with Sandrine from SMboutique, Brown Owls and Imogen's Art Space for a felt-making catch up.
And to round it all off I have a big pile of vintage kids hankies to contend with this morning. They were my lil sis's when she was a kid, destined to be turned into something sweet for her birthday this weekend.
Any suggestions?

Wow Rebecca! That scarf is seriously fabulous - such a great idea - and how exciting to be part of such a worthwhile project. Loving your embroidery too (as always) and those hankies are just gorgeous. Hanky cotton is so fine, I'm not sure what to suggest... You could patchwork them together to make a quilt... if you use a strong backing fabric maybe you can embroider around some of the figures? Have fun experimenting. Love to see the finished piece. Kx
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderfully, creative things going on here Rebecca.....
ReplyDeleteThe custom order is just too darn cute for words. I love it.
The Salvos do a great job helping the homeless and I'm sure all those scarves will be greatly appreciated.
I guess bunting is an obvious idea for using the hankies, but a quilt or a cushion would be great too. Have fun with it.......

those hankies are just gorgeous. I love the idea of a quilt and bunting. Or maybe you could make them into a couple of patchwork cushions?
ReplyDeleteAnd I do love the custom order embroidery, has a wonderful spirit xo
